If you’ve ever considered going into the law field, you should know that there are more careers out there than just becoming a lawyer. There are similar careers, less advanced careers, and superior careers. Consider these other careers as you research law careers.
Paralegal
A paralegal is sometimes called a legal assistant. They are in charge of organizing client files, doing research, and acting as a communication between clients and attorneys. These people are usually employed by a law firm, but sometimes by private businesses.
Police Officer
As a child, you may have dreamed about becoming a police officer, and as great as they seemed back then, they are still helping to enforce the legal system. They are knowledgeable about laws and help to keep their area safe and solve crimes.
Judge
A judge usually begins as a lawyer and eventually works their way up to making decisions in a courtroom. They can make executive decisions on verdicts, but that is usually left to the jury. Their main duty is being in charge of overseeing trials in a courtroom.
Legal Secretary
A legal secretary is just like any other secretary but they must have extensive knowledge on in law and have skills in researching, writing, and communication. Their main job is usually to do work to do research for lawyers.
Lawyers
Lawyers are important in the law field, as they can help give expert advice to clients and help prove their innocence, get them acquitted, or provide evidence to help them win a case. It takes several years of schooling to become a lawyer because you need extensive knowledge on the subject of law.
